With the safety of our residents and well-being in mind, Citrus County officials have mandated evacuations for our area in Homosassa in anticipation of a hurricane landfall in the next few days.

About half of the evacuees have been relocated inland by way of motorcoach-style buses to The Canopy at Walden Woods, while the other half have been moved inland to Village Veranda at Lady Lake. However, some residents have gone home with family until the storm passes.

The Sunflower Springs at Homosassa team accompanied the evacuees to both locations, and SRI Management senior leadership will be on-site to assist.

Walden Woods and Village Veranda staff and the Sunflower Springs team worked together to prepare meals and accommodations for the new arrivals.
