Myrtle Beach Community Cuts Ribbon, Officially Opens Doors

Published: Nov 16, 2022

By way of a ribbon-cutting celebration, November 15 marked the official opening of Indigo Carolina Forest, a 166-unit independent and assisted living community in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

“The Carolina Forest area is a delightful place to call home,” SRI Management and SR Companies CEO Don Bishop said. “The addition of Indigo Carolina Forest in the Myrtle Beach area provides families in this area with a higher standard of living for their loved ones seeking the best in care for the next phase of their lives.”

The community offers 166 total units including 89 independent living apartments, 14 independent living villas, 44 assisted living apartments and 19 memory care options in an amenity-rich, innovative environment. Atlanta-based real estate development company, Compass Living, together with Bourne Financial Group are proud to officially open Indigo Carolina Forest. The community sits on nearly nine acres of well-accessed land in the heart of the Carolina Forest.

"This community is the third senior housing development for our company, with several more in the pipeline, all poised within the thriving areas seniors want to call home,” said Bob Godard, chief executive officer, Compass Living. “Built in the beautiful Carolina Forest, the accessibility of this site to the entire region, coupled with the offering of a substantially larger, resort-style living option than competitive area communities provide, Indigo Carolina Forest is ideal for families and residents in the region seeking the highest standards in amenities, activities and care.”

In addition, Indigo Carolina Forest is adding approximately 85 job opportunities for local job seekers, infusing more than $2 million in annual salary and wages into the Myrtle Beach region.

Indigo Carolina Forest Executive Director Randy Hudson said he's “excited to show this senior living community to families and future residents. This is a new way to think about senior living, and it’s something you just have to see.”

Ernie Webb wouldn’t send troops to battle alone; he went with them. That leadership is on full display as he holds onto his Bronze Star, Silver Star – the third-highest military decoration for valor in combat – and Purple Heart medals. Another ten or so medals hang in a case near him. And with 24 years of military service, he’s seen a thing or two.
